Nathan Surreal (NL)

Artist
When balancing on the edge of reality, you can see much further into the abstract, surreal world of your mind. This world has always been the incentive for Nathan Surreal to explore the deep ends of music and art. To avoid the obvious, search for the unexpected and to create a provocative illusion. With a sound best described as Techno, consisting of deviating rhythms, hypnotic structures and deep grooves. Nathans music has an obvious African character, influenced by the early (deep)house and techno from Chicago and Detroit. The founder of KMS Records, the legendary Kevin Saunderson, noticed Nathan in 2014, when he released his 'Binary Omania' EP on his Detroit based label. Nathan also released on DJ 3000's Motech Records and on Coincidence Recordings, with remix duty by Eduardo De La Calle. Coming up is a vinyl EP release at the infamous Midnight Shift. Nathan is a frequent seen guest artist at Amsterdams finest venues like Radion and Depot. Next to this he is founder and curator of Kommune, the movement that held parties at Cruquiusgilde, Ruigoord and OT301. Next to his talent he also enjoys great knowledge in music. He finished his Bachelor in Music Technology, He also shares this passion with others – when he is teaching at the Herman Brood Academie in Utrecht and at a public school in Amsterdam.
