Mudde (NL)

Artist
After a childhood spent playing various instruments in bands, it was only natural Mudde would go on to study Music Production and Composition and then Audio Engineering in his later teenage years. Parallel to all this he has been making and playing music for years, taking influence and inspiration from raw and emotional sounds from a range of genres. It’s all paid off, and now he is a much-loved DJ on the Amsterdam scene who regularly plays clubs like Melkweg, Trouw, Paradiso and Chicago Social Club, as well as festivals like Valhalla, Amsterdam Open Air and Mysteryland. The sets this full time Audio Engineer energetically constructs are made up of a wide array of sounds, from heavy house to pumping techno via dark garage, UK bass and a bit of dancehall and bashment. “As a DJ I love to combine different styles that suit the moment of the party,” he says. “I’m always keeping an eye open for new and old styles of music which still have dancefloor relevance.” You will also hear him play such music on his own Red Light Radio show and at the club events he runs with friends under the Boston Strip banner. So too is the Amsterdam born and bred Mudde a sound technician for the touring Boston Strip Soundsystem and loves to collaborate in the studio (for example, he’s currently making house with Sotu The Traveller, and techno with drum and bass producer Nymfo). Soon he'll play at Mysteryland alongside UK heavyweight Mosca as part of the Red Bull Music Connect Project and Mudde’s sound will be continued to bring people together on dancefloors everywhere.
