Mars Bill ()

Artist
Although only in his early twenties, Mariano Sibilia’s music is so accomplished it really belies his age. The main reason for that is music is not just a hobby, but something he has taken incredibly serious all his life. Proof of this comes from the fact that he is a graduate of electronic music from Conservatorio Statale Di Musica D. Cimarosa, a fine music academy that taught all he knows about production. His studies finished in 2015 following a study for the academy about Computer Music and the evolution of digital language from the second half of the last century to today. It means he is now well equipped to make his mark on the real world. But Mariano’s journey started more than a decade ago as a big fan of hip hop, and so it was that as soon as he got decks he taught himself the art of scratching whilst soaking up the sounds and styles of Grandmaster Flash, DJ Shadow and other luminaries. Before long he started buying up bits of hardware to do just that. Increasingly obsessed with house and techno from pioneers like Derrick May, Robert Hood and Adam Beyer, Mariano assumed the Mars Bill alias and has not looked back since. His sounds, which are firmly rooted rollers with well sculpted synths and dramatic arrangements that really sweep you up, have come on esteemed modern labels like Suara, Intacto, Octopus and Loose Records, and have always turned the heads of the most important DJs in the techno field, from Carl Cox to Richie Hawtin. A hugely prolific producer who has put out tens of EPs, 2015 brought massive new releases on Intec and Break New Soil amongst others. As a remixer, too, he is in high demand by people who want to have his singular sound imposed on their own work and to date he has remixed people like Pascal Nuzzo and Hollen for labels like Unrilis and Trapez. Because of this, people have also been ever keener to hear Mars Bill in the club environment and so it is that he has laid down his compelling, groove driven sets of techno funk all around Europe. Never failing to get ‘floors in a sweat and to tease and teach them in equal measure, Mariano knows his world inside out and back to front, and it is for that reason that he has managed to stand head and holders above the competition at each and every stage. He has performed in recent years alongside the likes of Chris Liebing, Tommy Four Seven, Monoloc, Len Faki, The Advent, Magda, Barem, Luigi Madonna, Dj Rush, Paul Ritch, Ilario Alicante. For the last 3 years He has also featured on the bill at Flussi media arts festival with acts including Robert Lippok, A Guy Called Gerald and Lauren Halo.
