Mark Gartenberg has worked on SXSW’s international team since 2000. From 2017 Mark has spearheaded SXSW Songs, SXSW’s first-ever song camp initiative, which includes established producers and songwriters from around the world. He leads an international advisory board drawn from management companies, music publishers and performing rights societies which curates the line-up of camp participants. SXSW Songs advisors include industry professionals from the likes of Prescription Songs (US), Tileyard Music (UK), Budde Music (Germany) and Universal Music Publishing Group (Scandinavia). Mark is a former Sony Music A&R executive in the US and UK, and a recognized pioneer in developing new markets for international artists. Mark also serves as President of Adesso, a boutique management, music publishing shop and label representing both established and emerging global acts. He is co-founder of MG Limited, a music consultancy focused on strategic partnerships, market development and communications. Mark is based in New York City.
