Born in 1968 in Eastleigh, Great Britain as the son of an English father and a Dutch mother. John Ewbank is the Netherland’s most successful composer, lyricist and producer. He had his first nr.1 hit with Gordon at the age of 21 and has since written and produced a total of 21 nr.1 hits. 14 of them with Marco Borsato, for which he has written and produced 9 studio albums, selling over 4 million units, receiving 12 Edisons, 20 TMF awards and a Golden Harp. In 1996 he wrote the music for the opening of the new Amsterdam football stadium The Arena. In 2006 he was on the jury of the Dutch Pop Idol and wrote and produced the nr.1 hitsingle ‘Hello World’ for winner Nikki, in 2007 and 2008 he was the musical director of Symfonica in Rosso with Diana Ross and Lionel Richie, for whom he wrote and produced the nr.3 duet with Trijntje Oosterhuis ‘Face in the Crowd’. In 2013 he co-wrote a song for the inauguration of the King which caused a lot of commotion. Latest musical successes include a worldwide hit with Armin van Buuren feat. Trevor Guthrie ‘This is what it feels like’, for which he received a Grammy Nomination. May 30th 2015 was the first edition of The Flying Dutch, a new dance festival instigated by John, for which he teamed up with ALDA Events, on which 10 of the biggest Dutch DJ’s are flown around between 3 stages in Amsterdam, Rotterdam and Eindhoven, playing for a crowd of 105.000 people. The festival sold out in one week. John is currently finishing the 10th studio album for Marco Borsato, whilst working on the musical ‘@16’, which will open March 1st 2016 in Theater Amsterdam.
