Green light for ADE Green 2023

Wednesday, 26 July 2023
The reopening of the music industry has brought with it a fresh wave of creativity and artistic expression – as well as new hurdles, emerging alongside existing challenges. ADE Green returns to Felix Meritis on Friday, October 20th to ignite and advance positive change within the industry: now is the time to connect, seek answers, and forge collaborations with a purpose.

Following up on recent news about the first major topics of ADE Pro and ADE Pro’s new networking opportunities, we continue with ADE Green: the conference on sustainability, innovation and social change in the music industry. With ADE Green passes now available, here is a sneak preview of this year’s ADE Green program – discover the power of storytelling, finance and funding, CO2-compensation, inspired leadership, bamboo scenic and stage design, circular event management, impact innovation, and much more.

ADE Green 2023

First glimpse into this year's ADE Green program

Financial Realities of Sustainability Initiatives

The necessity and demand for making the music industry more sustainable may be indisputable. Meanwhile, many organizations are currently grappling with the economic aftermath of the pandemic, as well as heightened expenses associated with personnel, materials, and transportation. How will ambitions become reality? Join us as we tackle the critical question of sustainability in the face of economic constraints.

Workshop: Green Deal Circular Festivals

Industry-leading festival organizers joined forces with the Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and Watermanagent in the Green Deal Circular Festivals. Together they aim for a climate-neutral and circular festival industry. Witness the launch of the blueprint for resilient and circular festivals in an interactive workshop and learn more about the possibilities and challenges centered around five themes: energy, food & drinks, materials, travel & transportation, and water.

Workshop: how and when CO2-offsetting makes sense

Renowned sustainability experts will decipher the complex world of measuring, emissions, and impact responsibility. Music artists, labels and event organisers will learn the ground rules of compensating for environmental impacts and CO2-emissions, and how to navigate this multifaceted topic.

Inspired Leadership with Mac Macartney

Mac Macartney is an exceptional speaker, writer, and leadership practitioner dedicated to creating a just, peaceful, regenerative, and flourishing future. His talk invites a radical re-imagining of our current story, presenting an opportunity for profound change and a new definition of how we live and work in the 21st century. A must for all creatives, thinkers, and leaders that will shape the electronic music industry of the future.

Innofest: The social & sustainable innovators of the future events industry

Innofest enables entrepreneurs, businesses, and students to test their innovations at festival sites. At ADE Green, the five most promising impact startups of 2023 will present their innovations, so come by if you’re after new-yet-already-tested ways to make your event, festival or business more sustainable and social. The details will be announced soon, but rumour has it that a special award will be handed out this year as well…

Building a climate-positive future with bamboo

Bamboo structures have been used for centuries, and are now swiftly making their way into events. This program explores how the climate-positive crop could shape the industry and society in the decades to come: whether as a sustainable building material used in scenic design, or in regenerative farming.

Experiencing events through powerful narratives

Harnessing the power of storytelling at today’s events is a no-brainer – especially when it’s used to promote positive change. This keynote analyzes current festivals and events that have used narratives to engage audiences, shape culture and change the world for the better.

Workshop: Infusing live events with compelling storytelling

This workshop dives deep into the subject of powerful narratives. Join in for a journey past screenwriting theory and case-studies, and work towards (re-)defining the narrative of your event.
