An unwavering love of the 4/4 beat has meant losing a great deal of sleep. Being a DJ & music producer definitely hasn’t helped either but that’s no bad thing. Born and raised in Cape Town (South Africa) many a night was spent soaking up the vast array of electronic beats & tempos, especially as a hedonistic club kid in the mid 90's when big raves & record stores ruled the roost. Exposed to a variety of house flavours that permeated the sweltering mother city this eventually led to a set of not-quite-Technics turntables. The DJ booth has always felt comfortable – from red-eye flights and breezy beach bars to concrete club confines. Sixteen years behind the decks has allowed opportunities to gig in London, Amsterdam, Prague, France, Poland, Switzerland and South Africa - with past residencies at Relish Bar & the Underground Mix Sessions on bustling Long Street, Cape Town. The desire to make records came from playing them and seeing the effect they had on people. Over time a sound has transposed through my music and found a home with labels like Large Music, i! Records, Street King, Tango & many more. To complete the cycle and as an avenue to promote other like-minded artists, I have created & run Oh So Coy Recordings along with new subsidiary Rogue Decibels.
