Duane Franklin (NL)

Duane Franklin Kerssenberg was born in Rotterdam, the Netherlands on December 15th 1984. He moved to Amsterdam in his teenage years and has been living there ever since. His father is a musician (guitar player) of several Surinam bands who released numerous records. Even today his father is still active as a musician. His mother listened to Music all the time leaving Duane no choice but to automatically grow up with Music. This is the reason to why his love for ‘Swingbeats’ is so enorm. Back in 2002 Duane was visiting an event where he watched DJ Irwan & Tjainee-I performing. He was so impressed by their performance and ever since that day he knew what he wanted to become: a DJ! He saved money and bought his First Vinyl Turntables in 2003 practising turntablism day in and day out. In 2005 a friend arranged his first official gig in Abcoude, the Netherlands allowing him to perform for a real audience. The impact he made on both the audience and the Club was so positive that from there on more gigs were presented to him. Duane Franklin moved his way into the Club scene through school parties and playing at several small events but within no time he was performing at the hottest and most popular Clubs of the Netherlands such as The Powerzone, Club Rembrandt, Paradiso, Odeon, P60, Havana and many more. One of his major highlights in his DJ career is performing at ‘Nope is Dope’ in the Mecc Hallen before 4000 people but there’s more. He also had the privilige to spin as support act for international artists such as: •Ciara •Tyga •Blackstreet •Amerie •J. Holiday •Miguel •Kevin Little Today you can find Duane Franklin throughout the Netherlands playing weekly at the greatest, hottest events of the country. Duane Franklin loves Music and the positive affect Music has on people. His strength as a DJ is being able to play a wide range of Music genres from Hip hop to Dancehall to R&B to Latin House to old school and so on. He has a great affinity with the crowd allowing him to know exactly what to play at exactly the right time. He loves to entertain people through his musical skills and is determined to always rock the audience in the best way possible.
