The 23 year-old Dutch Robin Leembruggen understands that making it as an electronic music DJ and producer in China isn't easy, and thus has made a career out of navigating the turbulent waters of China's music scene in order to help promote some of its emerging local talents.
Robin Leembruggen moved to Beijing on the age of 21 on behalf of Dutch Festival organizer “Art of Dance” to run a bookings agency and artist management company called “Mad Panda”. This was a great next step, fully matching his ambition to play a big role in the worldwide music industry. He started off in Beijing where the main focus was to provide bookings for both International as well as local DJ’s acts. After a full year of research on the Chinese dance music scene he decided to move the agency to Shanghai and fully focus local Chinese talent.
Since then, things have moved fast for Leembruggen and many of the young Chinese producer/DJs he's linked up with. This year, in 2016 he took three Chinese DJ’s to Europe for a tour containing 25 shows, with biggest highlight the first Chinese DJ-act on Tomorrowland. That same talent named Chace, released an EP called “Destination EP” on Yellow Claw’s
imprint called Barong Family, hitting the ITunes Top 10 Dance Charts in the U.S. and Canada.
Combining a strong European network with a solid Chinese vision is making a way for Mad Panda to become one of the prominent talent agencies on the Chinese market. Read more
