The agency's work includes innovative campaigns for Fortune 500 companies including Converse, Coca-Cola, Microsoft, Milwaukee Bucks, Mountain Dew and Diageo to name a few, giving Cornerstone a reputation as a forerunner in branding and lifestyle and in branding and entertainment. Billboard Magazine declared “Cornerstone sits on the nexus of branding and music, and are arguably the pioneers in the movement.”

In 1999, Stone and Co-CEO Jon Cohen launched the FADER, an award-winning music, style and culture publication and the unofficial guide to what’s next in music. The publication, which The New York Times
has called the industry's “music and fashion bible,” has been credited with placing now A-list artists including Kanye West, Kendrick Lamar, The Strokes, The White Stripes, and Bon Iver on its cover first.
Additionally, Stone co-founded FADER Label, which has released critically acclaimed albums by Matt & Kim, Editors, The Bots and Saul Williams.

Prior to founding Cornerstone, Rob made a name for himself within the recording industry at a young age. He became one of the first national radio promotions people for major labels who had grown up on hip
hop. A graduate of the University of Albany, he began his career at SBK Records, and later moved to EMI Records where he rose through the ranks to vice president of promotion. In 1994 Stone joined music executive Clive Davis at Arista Records.

Over these early years he worked closely with Notorious B.I.G., Usher Raymond, and other various artists
during their rise to fame including Sean “Puffy” Combs, Outkast, and Faith Evans. In a NY Daily News article Clive Davis is quoted as saying, “Stone has been at the promotion forefront of the hip-hop
revolution for the last decade.”
