Nightclub entrepreneurs don't come much more decorated than Sankeys boss David Vincent. Boasting a CV that would leave most of his contemporaries weak at the knees, he's previously brought his talents to a plethora of renowned clubbing institutions, be it The Hacienda in Manchester, Ministry of Sound in London or Pacha in Ibiza.
Combining years of experience and expertise, he re-opened Sankeys in Manchester in 2000, at a time when the electronic music scene was reputedly on its deathbed. That the club has survived – and thrived – in the intervening years is testament to the man's talents; with DJ Mag readers even naming Sankeys the globe's number one club in 2010.
So where to from here? The answer to the ever restless and ambitious Vincent lay in Ibiza's many charms, with Sankey's White Isle institution opening its doors to (eventual) fanfare in Playa d'en Bossa last summer. Read more
