WORK HARD, PLAY HARD! SCHEDULING HEDONISM IN THE 21ST CENTURY
You are twentysomething going on thirtysomething. You reap the benefits of higher education, live in a metropolitan city and you want it all. But how do you plan festivals, afterparties and all the other cool events you want to attend and still maintain a weekday healthy work-life-sleep balance? How do hedonistic rave tendencies and self-discipline fit into a seemingly quite contradictory lifestyle?
Festival tickets are bought months in advance and we even pencil in hangover days as planned recovery time with all necessary supplements to restore our depleted serotonin levels. During working hours we are back in the saddle again for our #eatclean #fit #motivation #healthy#mindful #newcareer #future #Mondays.
Carefully scheduled fun, hopping from highlight to highlight and increasingly higher expectations of every event we attend, aren’t we completely missing the point? What happened to good old spontaneous fun? And is it beneficial to live this paradoxical way of life or is fomo literally wearing us down to the bone and can we afford to turn it down a notch?
Join us during this ADE night lecture in which we examine the follies and wisdom of pre-arranged hedonism, our continuous pursuit of happiness and the long-term effects of this modern day thrill seeking.
Your professor for this night will be announced shortly.
