Power Rewired – presented by the City of Amsterdam
13:30 - 15:00
DeLaMar Theater | Marnixstraat 402, Amsterdam
We all share the desire to build fossil free festivals and we know that, in principle, it’s feasible. But how exactly do we power our events without the familiar diesel generators? And how do we make sure we do it efficiently? In this session, the City of Amsterdam will announce its sustainability ambitions to eliminate all generators used by events by 2020 and create more power connections within the city, providing local green energy only.
Before we dive into five smart power solutions, our moderator Paul Schurink kicks off the session explaining the Trias Energetica Approach. A 3-step approach to create an energy-efficient design. Following this, five solutions will be presented on how to power your event with less CO2impact, noise, and clean air. The pitches will be commented upon by some of the finest experts in the field; Casper Garrels (independent event producer), Maarten de Bruijn (City of Amsterdam) and Rob Scully (environmental scientist).
We close the session with a deep dive into a fascinating case study of the pioneering Milkshake Festival, where different solutions are combined into a green energy plan. This session is aimed at festival-owners, event-managers, show designers, producers, and policymakers and will be as interactive as possible throughout with plenty of room for Q&A's.
