Panel: Brussels by Night
15:00 - 15:45
De Brakke Grond (G2 Big Room) | Nes 45, Amsterdam
There is something about Brussels, something’s very alive and blooming. Clubs like Fuse and C12 and Festivals like Listen! offer a renewed platform for all the city's nocturnal and electronic facets. Renowned festivals like Lyon's Nuits Sonores decide to incorporate Brussels in their program with Nuits Sonores Brussels. Collectives and concepts like H E 4 R T B R O K E N, Catclub, Nosejob and Slagwerk take over venues with their dedicated crowds. Yet the city’s nightlife seems to remain impenetrable. Is it the hodgepodge of languages you hear in the streets, the lack of a dominant culture, or the city's complex administrative structure?
Who actually does make the effort to lift its lid, will easily get enthralled by all that Brussels has to offer, no matter how small its nightlife scene is, compared to other European capitals. This talk takes you by the hand and offers you the guide par excellence to this ambiguous city: who are those promoters, collectives, clubbers, DJ’s, artists, media, scenes,...?
This panel is part of 'Brussels by Night', a project by De Brakke Grond, Poppunt, Sabam For Culture and Belgium Booms.
