Musicians, producers, DJs, and everyone in the business should pay attention to Colombia, because, since Juanes and Shakira's worldwide success, Latin music has been exploding and reaching multiple foreign markets. Nowadays the throne is disputed between J Balvin and Maluma, and maybe another 30-40 names, all from Colombia, especially Medellín, a name tattooed in the collective consciousness through other stories besides music. Behind the artists, there are plenty of composers, producers, beat-makers, record studios, video makers, song-writers, and independent labels, building up an infrastructure that's changing the music industry forever, and is transforming the City of the Eternal Spring into the latin version of Nashville. Around 55% of the urban latin music produced since 2015 has Colombian musical talent involved, and the sales numbers are insane. If you look at all the plays of Maluma's videos on YouTube, half of the population of the world has listened to him at least once, and his career only started 3 years ago. All these good things happening have a positive impact on the underground and alternative scene too. Last year, all of the top 10 DJ's visited our country, from Carl Cox to Sven Vath, and now we have super clubs and super venues, and artists coming from all around the world every weekend. The live music and festival scene has just started to grow and the future is exciting, specially when you hear than a bunch of ''20 something'' producers, composers and beat-makers are Latin Grammy winners. We changed bullets, drugs and blood for music a long time ago, I hope everybody in the world that's a fan of the series Narcos can realise that too.
ADE offers you a 20 minute snap shot of this amazing country followed by an organised networking session featuring the country's major players.
