Pecha Kucha: Festivals Leading the Way To a Sustainable Future
11:30 - 12:15
DeLaMar Theater (D8 Panel Room) | Marnixstraat 402, Amsterdam
Sustainability might not be the first thought that comes to mind when talking about festivals, but this industry in particular is currently seriously experimenting with bottom-up innovations in the field of logistics, waste, energy, mobility and water management. Festivals are currently working with innovative companies, start-ups, scientists and newly founded innovation platforms for the event industry such as Open-House, Innofest and the Revolution Foundation. Festivals are a catalyst for a genuine transition towards true sustainability.
Alongside that, music festivals are a rite of passage for millennials, providing a powerful and meaningful way to connect with that audience. In other words: our future is sustainable, and festivals are a great way to show a shining example to the world. In this Pecha Kucha- style panel, we present five innovations from around the world that are applicable both to the festival industry and to society as a whole.
For this panel we have one wildcard entry for the craziest and most innovative idea that is sent to us. Panellist will be announced soon.
