Modern Remix Culture - Power to the People
13:00 - 13:45
De Brakke Grond (G4 Workshop Room) | Nes 45, Amsterdam
The first remixes started appearing in the late 70s/early 80s, and since then the game has changed completely. Back then it was only studio technicians who could really make a proper remix, now anyone with the time and some modest gear can do it, A panel of experts will explore the world of remix culture, looking at everything from the current landscape to the future of remixing, with particular attention paid to user-generated remixes and how that will impact the future music industry. They will also be looking at the ever-important question of monetisation and how user-generated remixes can earn you money, the potential role of blockchain and much more.
