17:00 - 17:30
Compagnietheater (C6 Main Hall) | Kloveniersburgwal 50, Amsterdam
Through his work, spatial sound designer Ricky van Broekhoven (NL) explores the realm of design and architecture using sound. He simultaneously crafted two symbiotic machines that adapt natural forces and processes to solidify the ephemeral character of sound energy. For ADE16 he sets up an engaging studio laboratory where he presents his machines.
Audiograph is related to the seismograph, a device that depicts subterranean movement in the earth. It transforms sound waves into circular drawings that represent a unique sound piece. It will be used to create a visual documentation of live acts during the festival. With carefully positioned light and lenses, Sonoscope projects oscillating waves in water. He joins forces with producer and artist Albert van Abbe (NL) to create a multi sensory wave-scape experience.
