Laurie Anderson joins Philip Glass for ADE MusicTalks
Leading avant-garde, contemporary classical composer and film score producer Philip Glass will be joined by Laurie Anderson, talking about their work for the first time at ADE.
There is no-one more important in the advancement of musical composition and classical music than Philip Glass, which is why ADE is proud to announce that he will be joining us for as part of the ADE MusicTalks tomorrow at De Brakke Grond.
Think of any piece of modern classical music piece, and you will always come back to Philip Glass. The US composer has been responsible for scoring Koyaanisqatsi, The Hours as well as The Truman Show and has also reshaped the way we think about contemporary music thanks to works such as Metamorphosis, Einstein on the Beach and more. As a last minute announcement, ADE can also announce that he will be joined by musical collaborator, violinist and compositionalist, Laurie Anderson.
Discussing his life in music and work along Anderson, Glass will be sharing his approach to modern music – by blending the avant-garde with the traditional –with Mixmag and Daily Telegraph contributor, Thomas H Green. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for those interested in finding out more behind how today’s leading composers finds inspiration in today’s modern climate and finding out how Glass and Anderson work to create a final score. This will be the ultimate lead-up for those attending Philip Glass’ performance alongside Anderson at Melkweg on Sunday night, the culmination to this year’s Amsterdam Dance Event.
