ADE '16
  • Get ready for the ADE Hackathon

On ADE's Friday DGTL, Young Creators and ADE present the first global hackathon for the dance scene.

After recent announcements of "10 performances not to miss" and ADE Sound Lab, it is time for one of ADE's tech and innovation events: the ADE Hackathon.

To stimulate innovation and entrepreneurship in the dance and festival scene, ADE 2016 will see DGTL, Young Creators and ADE joining forces to organize the first ever ADE Hackathon. As the electronic music scene is using data & technology more and more, the three parties acknowledge the importance to discover further opportunities in this domain.

At the ADE Hackathon, smart developers, designers and entrepreneurs are asked to think about the challenges that are faced by the dance and festival scene, but also to think about the opportunities that data and technology provide. A group of 100 selected bright minds will be invited to develop smart concepts, new apps and inspiration within a challenging timespan of 24 hours.

The location for this year's hackathon will be the headquarters of Greenpeace Netherlands surrounded by the industrial and iconic NDSM docks. ADE Hackathon is organized with partners Greenpeace Netherlands, Kornuit, KPN Digital, Gemeente Amsterdam and UberEATS. Other supporters are inBeacon, Philips Lighting, Transavia and Domino's.

There will be four challenges the teams can work on. Each challenge is presented by two or more partners. Teams can choose one of the following themes or the wildcard!

  • Sustainability, partners: Greenpeace, DGTL
  • Data connections, partners: DGTL, ADE, Kornuit (Grolsch beer Brand)
  • Brand Activation, partners: Greenpeace, Kornuit
  • Events & the City, partners: City of Amsterdam, ADE
Friday afternoon will be the kick-off with a keynote speaker which will be revealed in the coming days. On Saturday afternoon the winners will be chosen and competitors are invited to join the afterparty at DGTL x Kompakt at the raw Scheepsbouwloods.
