How do you build a soundtrack? Which basic ingredients do you always need? And what musical spices make the soundtrack unique?
In this panel, composers Fons Merkies, most recent winner of the Buma Oeuvre Award Multimedia, and Laurens Goedhart examine how soundtracks work. They decompose the soundtrack of the family film Storm: Letters van Vuur, in order to demonstrate the connection between sound, music, image and story. The panel also discusses strategies and concepts for working with music, from pre- to post-production.
