Roger Linn Demos the LinnStrument

Among many other achievements, the brilliant Roger Linn has revolutionized electronic rhythm making not once, but twice: first by designing the first sampling drum machine, the LM-1 and its follow-up the LinnDrum, and second by creating the Akai MPC range of samplers. Both were absolutely integral to innovations in dance music and their sonic signatures are all over brand new tracks today. But Linn never stopped innovating and his latest device is the Linnstrument: his expressive replacement for the MIDI piano keyboard. LinnStrument senses three dimensions of continuous finger movement plus velocity and releases velocity, thereby bringing the performance expression of fine acoustic instruments to electronic synthesis. For this session, he'll not only be explaining his creations properties but demonstrating a little of his own not inconsiderable musicianship.

Registration for this workshop is only possible with an ADE Sound Lab wristband.
