Conference

Hardstyle

Carnage (Artist, GT), Ethan Wigfield (Label Manager, Heavyweight Records, US), Lil Texas (Artist, US)

As the EDM revolution of the start of the 2010s continues oI mature, the US electronic scene is both innovating and integrating existing global dance styles. Very notably that now includes the extended musical family of hard trap, hardstyle, hard trance, hardcore etc, which are rapidly starting to spill out from their own specialist areas at events, hitting the main stages and hybridising with other popular forms. On this panel, US scene stalwarts Carnage, Ethan Wigfield and Lil Texas discuss how the States are adapting to higher tempos and the energy of the harder styles, how this works on audiences primed by trap, dubstep and EDM, and what this means for the global hard dance community?
