Their schedule for this year's edition runs from ADE Wednesday through Sunday and will include five events that vary between film screenings, panel discussions, open jam sessions and live music performances. Metropolis with live electric score
On Wednesday October 16th, the program will be kicked off by a viewing of the German 1927 film Metropolis with a live synth score by Alex Brajković and Tomer Baruch. The Fritz Lang-directed science-fiction drama depicts the blurred line separating man and machine through mechanical-humans, human-like machines and above all the city of Metropolis itself. In analogy to that, the soundtrack will be based on archival recordings of factory machinery, on top of which the two musicians will play drums and electronics.

Movie preview: Beats
The premiere of the film Beats is set on ADE Thursday and will have another viewing on Sunday. Beats show the unlikely friendship between teens Spanner and Johnno in a Scottish town. On their last night out, the two friends steal cash from Spanner's brother and journey into an underworld of anarchy, freedom, and collision with the forces of law and order. The film is set to an eclectic soundtrack fitting with the scene.

Afrogrooves in /K
Afrogrooves is a growing community of people with a shared love for West-African music. During open jam sessions, the sounds of afrobeat and afro-funk are explored and celebrated. On Friday night, Studio/K hosts a panel discussion on the Dutch music industry and the place of protest music in this scene. The panel will be followed by a live music session; partially prepared, but in large part improvised. The house band of Afrogrooves will open the session with the classic protest songs of Fela Kuti, among others. Afterwards, they continue with an open jam session where musicians and visitors alike can chip in.

Modular synth night in /K
Within the context of this year's ADE theme '100 years of electronic music instruments', Studio/K will host a program filled with modular synthesizer artists who will play different kinds of electronic music all night long in styles ranging between noise, ambient, dance and experimental music. The night is hosted by Bart de Wolff, who also organizes modular synth nights in Paradiso as Voltage Control Amsterdam and is one of the organizers of the yearly festival Dutch Modular Fest.
