Following up on recent news about the Compagnietheater and ADE Green's program, we now shift focus to the ADE By Day program, which is gearing up for its 2019 edition with the addition of a historical venue.

AETHER is the latest performance by Boris Acket, Maarten Vos, Nick Verstand and Salvador Breed, that will give the Noorderkerk a new dimension. Acket, Verstand and Breed's practice is all about investigating space as a medium. They use music, light, spatial audio and kinetic elements to explore and expose new ways of experiencing the building and room that you enter.

The evening promises to be a ritual process blending the very old and the very new, with elements of the architecture redefined and re-emphasised by a surround sound installation using no less than 20 speakerpoints. Travel in a colourful thick mist with sounds and gradients around, creating live painted 'airfresco's'. At the heart of all this, there will be a site-specific composition by cellist and modular synthesist Maarten Vos, performed on the Noorderkerk’s traditional Knipscheer organ. With the AETHER performance, the artists are paying tribute to the Noorderkerk by opening up new ways to experience it. This event is an initiative of Noorderkerk Concerten.
