Immerse yourself in global dance culture with ADE 2020's all-new digital platform! This October at ADE we're guiding you through the world of dance culture with a freely accessible online program dedicated to offering something exceptional for everyone. Through music, art, film, studio tours, masterclasses and more, ADE 2020 showcases the whole spectrum of electronic sub-genres and a broad range of artists, including Âme, Bloody Mary, Carl Cox, DJ Marcelle, Jacco Gardner, Kim Booth, Niklas Paschburg, Pan-Pot, Speedy J and many more.

Running alongside the ADE Pro digital conference, we're offering a free-to-access, immersive virtual experience during ADE 2020 this October. This year's program features a multitude of live streams premiering during ADE, including concerts from the ADE Specials program taking place live in Amsterdam, along with a peek into the inner lives of world-class artists and DJs. Take part in interactive workshops and masterclasses and explore live DJ sets, artistic cross-overs, a carefully curated film and documentary program and plenty more immersive creative endeavours.

Carl Cox' Awesome Soundwave Studio and Live Jam

Techno powerhouse Carl Cox presents an exclusive tour of his Awesome Soundwave studio. Launched in May 2018, Awesome Soundwave is geared towards artists who make and perform their music live, enabling them to be themselves and create their music without any boundaries. Together with label partner Christopher Coe, Cox offers a peek behind the curtain of their studio and the two will be performing a live jam to be streamed worldwide.

Studio Tour with Âme's Frank Wiedemann

Frank Wiedemann of German duo Âme is set to give you an inside look into their Berlin studio. As partners for almost two decades and co-owners of the Innervisions label, Âme offers glimpses of the future of electronic music through their live projects and compilations. Get up close with their impressive collection of analogue equipment and witness Wiedemann as he builds one of his live sets.

A Journey Through the Sound of DJ Marcelle / Another Nice Mess

Traverse the most interesting and obscure records of Dutch DJ and producer Marcelle / Another Nice Mess. In her live sets, she uses three turntables combining environmental sounds with left field techno, free jazz, hip hop, African dance music and much more, so expect a livestream filled with deep cuts, rarities and unique sonic surprises.

The Record Collection of...

In 'The Record Collection of...', Berlin-based DJ Bloody Mary and Jasper Verhulst (Altın Gün) show off their most prized possessions. They'll be revealing a selection of their favourite records, and explaining how those recordings inspired them while creating their original sound, as well as how they see the importance and impact of the records on the wider music scene.

Masterclasses by Tantu Beats, Niklas Paschburg and many more to come

Multi-platinum music producer Tantu Beats will be offering a beat-making workshop featuring the tracks he produced for artists such as Famous Dex, Merol, Winne and many others, plus Niklas Paschburg - who also performs two seated-only ADE Specials at Concertgebouw this year - will be sharing a one-off masterclass into how he starts a musical composition from scratch.

Alongside the first confirmed programming, you can expect a wealth of in-depth showcases, workshops and masterclasses hosted by brands such as Ableton, Amptec, Beatport, Armada Music, Roland and many more. More information on this year's gear program will follow very soon.

Paradiso is set to stream headlining performances from the ADE Specials program, live from Amsterdam to the world, including Satori presents Maktub, a cinematic live experience with the intent to melt a live musical performance together with visuals to create an extraordinary audiovisual adventure. Meanwhile, Speedy J presents STOOR, two live shows that invite musical guests Colin Benders, Lady Starlight, Steve Rachmad and Surgeon along with video artists to perform an audiovisual jam session with analogue machines on stage.

AMW.FM returns with the AMW ADE DJ Marathon, showcasing 100+ DJs both in Amsterdam as well as international DJs broadcasting from abroad. The first confirmed names include 2000 and One, DJ Dano, Roger Sanchez and Roog, with many more to be announced. Get ready for 24 hours a day of live house, techno and everything in between throughout the full five days of ADE.

Furthermore, NDSM Sessions will be hosting live DJ streams throughout the week, with, among others, an Infinite Depth label showcase on ADE Friday, Click Records celebrating their 5-year anniversary on ADE Saturday, and Pursuit Records on ADE Sunday. The Random Vinyl Marathon brings 36 DJs from a spectrum of electronic music sub-genres together in the W Hotel in Amsterdam spinning a series of vinyl-only sets. Their lineup includes ArnouX, DJ Josè, DJ Rossa, DJ Tracksuit, Gysèle, Lie Dope and Reva Zenith to name just a few.

Arts & Culture at ADE

Since March of this year, the world has run at a different pace. Does this mean we perceive time as compressing or as expanding? Oblique Time - A New Audio Visual Installation examines this changing perception of time. Pianist Helena Basilova, visual artist Nick Verstand and sound designer Salvador Breed explore this theme in an amalgamation of live piano music, spatial sound, and light art, while transporting the audience to one of few certainties: the present moment.

Berlin-based techno duo Pan-Pot are creating a new series of immersive conceptual performances, premiering during ADE 2020. The set features mixed reality DJ performances and novel ways for fans to connect, that the Pan-Pot team are developing on experimental new stages for virtual, real-time performances.

In Computered Visions, Jacco Gardner invites you to experience the unfolding of music and visuals through improvisation using vintage 80s computers, in an audio-visual improvisation premiering live during ADE. Inspired by the idea of using one instrument for many compositional layers, Gardner brings together different worlds in real-time. Sound and visuals, performance and composition.

If you joined Kim Booth's restorative sound journey in the ADE Zen Space last year, you'll be happy to hear that she will be returning for ADE 2020, this time streaming live from Moon Beach in Ibiza. With the healing vibrations and resonance of her crystal singing bowls, Booth leads viewers through a deep sound meditation.

The ADE film program

The documentary Larry’s Garage by Corrado Rizza, takes us back to the notorious NYC Paradise Garage and features legendary names such as Arthur Baker, Barbara Tucker, Boy George, Danny Krivit, David Mancuso, David Morales, François K., Louie Vega, Lenny Fontana, Paul Oakenfold, Ray Caviano and Tony Humphries.

Closing out the first ADE 2020 roundup is The Unusual Suspects - Once Upon a Time in House Music, Chip E's Chicago house documentary, which has never previously been shown online and is set to premiere during ADE. The film gathers, among others, Steve Hurley, Frankie Knuckles, Joe Smooth, Larry Heard, Jesse Saunders and Glenn Underground, to capture the history of today's dance music and how it has changed not only the dancefloor, but the entire world.
