After recent festival news about Awakenings returning to ADE with ten shows and DJ collective Kraak & Smaak to perform at the Melkweg, we move on with our daytime offering with two announcements on ADE University.
Alongside students, we now welcome young professionals under 30 to ADE University for the first time. Both students and graduates can enjoy the complete program, which now also features a brand new concept under the name What's Next?.
What's Next? Is an interesting conversation between a young professional at the beginning of his / her career and a more seasoned professional in the same work field. Through casual dialog and audience Q&A's, the session tries to answer questions like, what were their first career steps, initial struggles, errors and early successes, the (rapid) change of the industry, what they’ve learned along the way, the biggest fuckups, and how to have a sustainable career.
The sessions will also look at individual career strategies including how our speakers plan their moves, through to embracing the idea of not planning anything at all, which can also be regarded as another kind of career advancement strategy. What's Next? sessions offer a look inside the lives of people who fight to be respected and recognized, giving ADE University attendees a glimpse of the ups and downs of building a career in the highly competitive entertainment sector.
Speakers confirmed so far are Udaravi Widanapathirana of Inertia Music and Dominic Furber of the PAXX Group, both from Australia, as well as Mickelle Heijmans, artist manager and owner of Mickster Management from the Netherlands.
ADE University takes place on Wednesday, October 16th till Friday, October 18th.
