Ableton to host workshops and masterclasses during ADE

Ableton will host five workshops and masterclasses, led by artists including Rachel K Collier, Giacomo Piscitelli and Sebastian Mullaert. They will showcase the latest kit as well as the classic Ableton range, with the artists demonstrating their working processes. The Ableton gear program is free to access and is set to run throughout ADE's livestreaming program.

The masterclass begins with a detailed break down of his live set up, where the artist shares insight into the various possibilities of software and hardware combinations catalysing creativity. In a second part Sebastian will walk us through musical elements from his modern classical project Natthall. He will proceed with a short live performance demonstration, in which he illustrates methods that encourage a rich experience while improvising, strategies specific to mixing electronic music with live sounds and collaboration with other musicians.

In this presentation Jean-Paul Grobben, who is an Ableton Certified Trainer from Amsterdam, will take you through some of the use cases for Max for Live. He discusses both basic and advanced use cases, as well as give an idea about how these devices work on the inside, and how you could start building something yourself. If you’ve always been curious about Max for Live but not sure what it is, what it is for, or how it may be useful to you, then this should be a great starting point.
