Shelly Powell (US)
Shelly Powell is a media industry veteran. For over a decade Shelly directed strategy and created new business opportunities for Viacom brands MTV, Vh1, CMT, Logo, Comedy Central and Spike TV, as well as CBS’ premium cable brand, Showtime. Shelly is currently the GM for
music video streaming platform, XITE, where she is tasked with growing the company’s presence in North America. In addition, Shelly is co-founder of contemporary womenswear brand, Kimberly Goldson. Prior to joining Viacom, Shelly spent a number of years as an investment banker, specializing in mergers and acquisitions in both New York and London. One of the music-related highlights of Shelly’s career is working with Clive Davis and Charles Goldstuck at J Records shortly after its formation. Shelly holds an MBA from Columbia Business School and a BS from Virginia-based HBCU, Hampton University.
