The worldwide success of Dutch dance music is undeniable. Dutch DJ’s and producers are performing all over the world. Dutch dance music generates 60% of all Dutch music export, generating a staggering 50 million of export euros in 2010. How is it possible that our small country has such a large influence on the dance scene, and what is it exactly that this influence entails?
In the last few years documentary makers tried to answer these questions by following Dutch DJ’s, such as Tiësto, Armin van Buuren, Afrojack and Chuckie, around the world, resulting in the promising 'Dutch Influence'. The documentary highlights the influence Holland has on the worldwide dance scene. ‘Dutch Influence’ will premiere at Amsterdam’s prestigious cinema Pathé Tuschinski on the 17th of October. National and international leading figures of the dance scene will be present during the world premiere that will also serve as one of the official opening events of Amsterdam Dance Event 2012.
During the Amsterdam Dance Event the documentary will be shown at Pathé City at the Leidseplein on several occasions. Check here for the timeschedule.
